Job Description
DP World is seeking a Software Engineer to join our UK IT team, supporting Ports and Terminals operations across the UK. This role is ideal for a technically strong and detail-oriented software professional who enjoys designing scalable systems, solving complex problems, and delivering high-quality solutions that improve operational efficiency.
You will work in a collaborative, high-visibility environment, contributing to systems that are critical to business performance, while also supporting and developing fellow team members.
How You Will Contribute
- Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end software solutions
- Build scalable, secure, and reliable systems aligned to business needs
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality and consistent delivery
- Apply and promote best practices across DevOps, CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud development
- Maintain high standards for code quality, system performance, testing, and documentation
- Troubleshoot and provide ongoing support for live systems
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharing
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative improvements
- Help ensure systems meet requirements for operational uptime, data integrity, and compliance

What You Will Bring
- Hands-on experience with Navis N4 customization in a port terminal environment is required
- Strong experience with C#, .NET, and modern software development practices
- Solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming (OOP), and clean code principles
- Solid understanding of SQL Server and NoSQL databases
- Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience developing applications using modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and TDD
- Proven experience delivering software in complex or enterprise environments
- Experience working within or alongside logistics or industrial systems (desirable)
- Understanding of operational or supply chain systems is an advantage
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers or development teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical team
- Confident decision-making and a proactive approach to challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
