Software Engineer
Software Development Engineer – Enterprise Services (Automation)
We’re looking for Software Development Engineers who are passionate about automation, process efficiency, and transforming business processes to join our Enterprise Services team.
You’ll be part of a growing capability shaping how Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and Copilot Studio are used across Yorkshire Building Society—delivering smarter, faster, and more efficient services for our members and colleagues.
This is a great opportunity to influence the future of automation and process efficiency at scale, while developing your own skills in a modern Microsoft technology stack.
Location: Hybrid role (work from home + time in central Leeds & Bradford offices).
About the Role
As Software Development Engineer, you’ll design, develop, document, and create test automation of software and configurations delivering value to YBS customers. You will:
- Build and enhance solutions across Dynamics 365 and Power Platform
- Develop and support RPA solutions, helping scale automation across the business
- Design and build agents/flows using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and Power Apps
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring using Azure DevOps
- Contribute to high-quality engineering through code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and analysts to shape solutions and delivery plans
- Ensure solutions align with current and future architecture standards
- Be part of an on-call team supporting YBS’s services out of hours

About You
You’ll have hands-on experience in:
- Code development in Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and RPA tooling, including:
- Transforming member journeys and driving operational efficiency at scale
- Building, evolving, and supporting YBS’s RPA capability
- Experience in agent/flow development deployable through Microsoft products
- Strong knowledge of Copilot Studio and modern digital/cloud technologies
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps (or similar) for work management, CI/CD, and deployment
Desirable experience includes:
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Exposure to developing and supporting AI agents in a Microsoft stack
- Experience with API integrations (e.g. Azure API Gateway)
- Automation Anywhere RPA tooling
- Collaborating across IT architecture, security, and operations teams
