Mid-Level Software Developer

Location: Colchester (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)

Salary: £35-£40k (DOE)

One of our top clients, an established software house is looking to expand its development team with the addition of a Mid-Level Software Developer.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business where you'll work on a variety of client and product-focused projects, using modern Microsoft technologies while contributing across the full software development lifecycle. You'll be working alongside experienced developers in an agile environment, helping to design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions.

The Role

As a Mid-Level Software Developer, you'll be responsible for developing new functionality, maintaining existing applications, and contributing to technical discussions as part of a close-knit engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining software applications.
  • Building scalable solutions using Microsoft technologies.
  • Writing clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
  • Developing and consuming APIs.
  • Working with SQL databases.
  • Collaborating with developers, QA and stakeholders.
  • Participating in code reviews and technical planning.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software issues.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and development best practices.

Essential Skills

  • Commercial experience developing with C#.
  • Strong knowledge of.NET 6–10 and.NET Framework 4.8.
  • SQL.
  • Experience with VB.NET.
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, React, Angular or Lit.
