Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Johnston

Function: Technology (CA)

Title: Software Engineer - 121890

Onsite/Remote: Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a full stack Software Engineer for John Deere Financial located in Johnston, IA, you will:

  • Work on an agile product team to create and support new and existing products in support of our Origination capabilities. You will plan work, coordinate with others, write and test code to deliver moderate to highly complex functionality.

Additionally, You Will

  • Work closely with the scrum teams and digital product owners to analyze business needs to define and refine software requirements.
  • Apply system development methodology to design, develop, configure, test and deploy solutions of moderate to high complexity.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of software development to draw out specifications for integrated solutions.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests and execute all other testing-related tasks against a user story’s acceptance criteria.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
  • Provide production support for team products including all integrations.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of full stack, hands-on development experience using technologies such as Java, Spring, React, Node, or TypeScript
  • Experience building or supporting cloud-based applications, preferably using AWS services such as ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB or S3
  • Experience with modern engineering practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps, and software automation.
  • Working knowledge of designing and developing service-based architectures including microservices and REST APIs.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork and a willingness to share knowledge, influence best practices, and support continuous improvement within the team.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Understanding of John Deere Financial Dealer or Origination domains.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and deliver across multiple technology stacks.
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and acceptance test-driven development (ATDD) utilizing tools like Junit, Cucumber, Cypress, Puppeteer, Mockito, etc.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with industry-standard security protocols like OAuth2, OpenID Connect etc.
  • Passionate about product quality and taking pride in your craft.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience
