RPG Developer (Contractor)

Salary – Competitive Inside IR35

Contract Duration – 3 months with likely extension

Location: Remote

Payroll provider – Rockford Pay

Role Overview

Deloitte is seeking a skilled RPG Developer contractor to join our team and provide expert support to our end financial services client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in RPG programming and a strong understanding of financial services systems. This role involves working closely with client teams to maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot legacy RPG applications critical to their business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG applications on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to RPG programs and associated systems.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Support integration of RPG applications with other systems and databases.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to client teams as needed.
  • Adhere to Deloitte and client security, compliance, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an RPG Developer, preferably in financial services or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency in RPG IV (ILE RPG) and familiarity with CL programming.
  • Experience working on IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.
  • Knowledge of DB2 database and SQL programming.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize legacy RPG applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Contractor availability to work onsite or remotely as per client requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modernization initiatives involving RPG applications.
  • Familiarity with financial services business processes and regulatory requirements.
