Software Engineer

Full Time

Cardiff / Remote

£35k - £55k

About the Role

At Codiance, we take pride in becoming extensions of our customers’ team to deliver Coding Brilliance; we believe that by understanding our customers’ problems first hand, we can better lend our expertise to delivering technology solutions that address the heart of their problems.

Through growth, we’re looking to expand our engineering team with the appointment of a software engineer to help us in our ambition.

Our software engineers are entrusted with the development of line-of-business software applications across a breadth of industries. We’re trusted to build the public facing websites for some UK’s universities along with inventory management tools for leading facilities providers.

If you’re an exceptional software engineer with a genuine passion for ensuring that the systems you develop address tangible problems, then we’d be interested in hearing from you.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential

  • Identify, develop, test and deliver robust and scalable technical solutions for Codiance’s customers, whilst producing appropriate documentation to support the longevity of our customer’s estates.
  • Ensure that our technical solutions are secure, highly performing, extensible and maintainable.
  • Promote and coach a strong culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, quality and reduction in development cycles.
  • Demonstrate a strong ethos to professional development, exploring opportunities to develop existing skillsets and adopt new ones.
  • Support the Principal Software Engineer in other tasks deemed necessary by the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
