Software Engineer

About Us

Engelhart was founded in 2013 by BTG Pactual Group as a commodities trading company. Our asset-light, highly diversified business model enables us to adapt quickly to shifting market conditions.

We’ve built disciplined, multidisciplinary teams, combining fundamental analysis, quantitative research, and advanced weather intelligence underpinned by robust risk management practices, powerful technology, and operational excellence. Our global teams bring diverse backgrounds and decades of experience, working collaboratively across products and competencies.

In 2024, Engelhart acquired Trailstone, a global energy trading and technology company. This acquisition expanded our capabilities into physical natural gas trading across North America—a critical fuel for the energy transition—while reinforcing our R&D, analytics, and proprietary technology for risk management and value optimisation in renewable power.

We embody four core values:

  • Performance
  • Agility
  • Collaboration
  • Entrepreneurship

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Python Software Engineer with approximately five years of experience to deepen expertise in commodities trading while joining Engelhart’s Risk, Finance & Compliance technology function as part of the Engelhart Technology team.

Only expect high autonomy, direct engagement with stakeholders and business users, and full end-to-end ownership—from requirement gathering and solution design to production deployment and support.

Collaborating with a small, agile team, this role offers an unique chance to shape Engelhart’s technology landscape, delivering impactful, scalable solutions that underpin data-driven decision-making. The team thrives on delivery focus, open collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
