AI Platform Engineer – London
Radley James is working with a leading global hedge fund that is looking to hire an AI Software Engineer to help drive the adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows across the business.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and AI, building internal tooling, developing agentic systems, and helping shape how modern AI technologies are leveraged across a world-class investment firm. The role offers exposure across the full technology stack and the chance to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives with direct business impact.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AI-powered applications and internal tooling.
- Create and manage MCP servers and agentic workflows.
- Establish and promote best practices for agentic engineering.
- Define security policies and data access controls for AI-driven projects.
- Migrate existing business processes to AI-enabled workflows.
- Contribute to multiple projects across the organisation and help drive firm-wide AI adoption.

Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience using Python or Java.
- Strong SQL or NoSQL database experience.
- Experience building and maintaining MCP servers.
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Experience using modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Copilot CLI.
- Strong understanding of modern LLMs, including training methodologies, capabilities, and limitations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

Nice to Have
- Experience working within financial services or other regulated environments.
- Experience with cloud and on-premise deployment architectures.
- Linux and Windows development experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Claude Code and Claude Desktop.
