As a Software Engineer – AI Native Platforms, you'll help build the next generation of AI-enabled engineering at Compare the Market. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll develop production-grade software, developer tooling and AI-enabled platforms that make engineering faster, smarter and more scalable. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has started working with AI technologies and wants to deepen their expertise while contributing to real-world AI solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain backend services that support AI-enabled applications and agent-ready platforms.
- Contribute to the application of Generative AI to modernise legacy systems and improve engineering productivity.
- Build APIs and services that enable AI agents to interact safely and effectively with our platforms.
- Help develop internal tooling that supports AI-native software development practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and product teams to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable software.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement activities to maintain high engineering standards.
- Learn and apply emerging AI engineering techniques while contributing ideas that improve our platforms and developer experience.
What We're Looking For
You'll have commercial experience developing backend software and enjoy solving technical problems in modern engineering environments. You're passionate about building reliable, high-quality software and are excited by the opportunity to work with emerging AI technologies.
You'll already have demonstrable exposure to – as well as a genuine interest in:

- Large Language Model (LLM) integration and prompt engineering
- AI agents and agent orchestration
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- AI observability, experimentation and model evaluation
Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, distributed systems and modern software engineering practices will help you succeed in this role.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who's curious, collaborative and eager to learn. You'll enjoy working alongside experienced engineers, embracing new technologies and continuously developing your skills while helping to shape the future of AI-native engineering at Compare the Market.
