About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer within the AI/ML Data Platforms business at JPMorgan Chase. In this role, you will be a vital contributor to a team dedicated to developing, enhancing, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will work closely with Data Scientists and AI Researchers to transform experimental AI/ML solutions into robust, production-grade applications, including Generative AI-based systems such as Agents. Your expertise will help streamline operations, improve code quality, and foster innovation through the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices. As a leader, you will mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of diversity, opportunity, and inclusion, ensuring the team remains at the cutting edge of technology advancements.

Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- Applied full-stack development experience
- Practical experience in Infrastructure as Code development, preferably using Terraform
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages, with a strong focus on Python
- Expertise in automation, continuous integration, delivery, and testing (CI/CD/CT) methodologies
- Experience leading the effective use of AI-assisted software development tools
- Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and compliance standards
- Comprehensive understanding of SDLC and MDLC
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and architectural frameworks
- Proficiency in platform development within cloud, AI, or machine learning disciplines
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Researchers to develop scalable, optimized production applications from experimental models
- Design, develop, and implement AI/ML software applications, including Generative AI systems like Agents
- Apply creative problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline recurring issues, enhancing operational efficiency
- Lead cross-team evaluation sessions to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for integration
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
- Establish and promote standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing
- Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development capabilities to maximize automation and efficiency
- Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of emerging technologies
- Mentor engineers, researchers, and data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Contribute to a team environment that values diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect
