Software Engineer
Our client, a leading organisation within the UK defence sector, is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team developing secure, scalable solutions.
Tech Stack (Experience in all is not required) JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java, Python, Go, Docker, Git, CI/CD, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Rust
You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, designing, building and maintaining modern applications while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on cutting-edge defence programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop modern front end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
- Build scalable backend services using Java, Python or Go.
- Support containerised applications using Docker, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Work within Agile teams to deliver high-quality, secure software solutions.

Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer within modern software environments.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or React.
- Backend development experience using Java or Go, Python, C# or C++.
- Knowledge of Git, Docker, CI/CD and software engineering best practices.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and scalable application design.
- Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.

Desirable
- AWS or Azure cloud experience.
- Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- DevSecOps and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of web security best practices.
- Exposure to Rust.
Security Clearance: Current SC Clearance is desirable, however the client will sponsor clearance for strong candidates. Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals and eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
