About The Role

We are collaborating with Hackajob to connect exceptional professionals with this exciting opportunity at J.P. Morgan. The role of Principal Software Engineer - Applied AI ML Director is a pivotal position within the Accelerator Business, focusing on developing innovative AI and machine learning solutions that directly impact customer experience and operational efficiency. This role involves designing scalable, self-service AI platforms, managing model lifecycle and deployment, and implementing best practices for AI/ML system integration. The ideal candidate will be passionate about emerging technologies, possess strong technical expertise in cloud-native architecture, and have a strategic mindset geared towards delivering high-impact solutions in the fintech domain. As part of this role, you will lead efforts to build and maintain advanced AI systems, mentor team members, and collaborate across various squads to drive innovation and excellence in AI application deployment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages
  • Experience deploying production systems on GenAI platforms such as Google VertexAI, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or LangChain
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Previous experience managing LLM-based applications and agents in production environments
  • Familiarity with vector stores such as Pinecone, GCP RAG engine, and AWS S3 Vector Buckets
  • Knowledge of cloud-native microservices architecture
  • Strong understanding of advanced AI/ML concepts including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic system architectures, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Hands-on experience with agent frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangGraph, or ADK
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, self-service solutions for documentation, SDKs, configurations, and pipelines to enable rapid deployment of GenAI applications and agents
  • Implement tools and frameworks for model versioning, experiment tracking, and lifecycle management
  • Develop systems to monitor model performance, address data and model drift, and ensure robustness of AI solutions
  • Recommend best practices for model integration, deployment, and operational patterns
  • Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, performance, and validation tests to minimize hallucinations and ensure output quality
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards across all AI platforms and applications
  • Mentor team members on platform design principles, coding standards, and implementation best practices
  • Deploy scalable AI services on cloud infrastructure, ensuring monitoring, observability, and reliability
  • Design microservices-based architectures and orchestrate multi-step workflows for complex AI solutions
  • Instrument agents for tracing, metrics, and feedback loops to facilitate continuous improvement
