Overview
Deloitte is supporting a leading global energy organisation in the search for an experienced Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering innovative, business-critical solutions.
This role is suited to an engineer who can work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop and enhance moderately complex applications and technical solutions. You’ll act as a subject matter expert across multiple systems and technologies, contributing to the delivery of high-quality software and driving continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and support moderately complex applications and software solutions.
- Work independently to manage priorities and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Provide functional and technical guidance to experienced colleagues and project teams.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple applications, technologies and IT domains.
- Analyse business and technical requirements to design scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve applications, infrastructure and development practices.
- Support solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
- Manage and mentor team members, supporting knowledge transfer and capability development.
- Act as the primary day-to-day technical point of contact, providing clear direction on approach, priorities and delivery timescales.
- Promote engineering best practices, quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in software engineering and application development.
- Ability to work independently whilst managing competing priorities.
- Experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working across multiple IT systems and technology domains.
- Ability to identify technical improvements and recommend optimal solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Previous experience providing technical leadership or mentoring team members.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments is desirable.
