As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase in Global Technology Asset Management
You will enhance, build, deliver, and operate firmwide technology solutions. You will design and develop secure, high quality full stack software while applying strong problem-solving skills across diverse technologies and applications. You will collaborate closely with partners in an agile environment to translate complex needs into reliable systems. You will own your work through production, helping ensure operational stability and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify problems, propose solutions, and execute software design, development, operations, and technical troubleshooting.
- Develop secure, high quality full stack production code, and review and debug code.
- Support the products you build through the full lifecycle, including production support and incident management.
- Analyze data to uncover hidden problems and patterns, and use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Collaborate with teams to understand the functional requirements of existing complex business applications.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Promote a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Practical knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency with front end languages and frameworks such as TypeScript and React.
- Proficiency with server side languages and frameworks such as Java and Spring Boot.
- Knowledge of integration technologies such as REST APIs.
- Ability to develop, debug, and maintain code using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Solid understanding of agile practices, including continuous integration and delivery, application resiliency, and security.
- Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment, with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Practical experience designing and deploying applications on AWS.
- Practical cloud native experience.
- Knowledge of UX design concepts such as responsive web design.
