Software Engineer III

Spreetail propels brands to increase their ecommerce market share across the globe while improving their operational costs. Learn how we are building one of the fastest-growing ecommerce companies in history: www.spreetail.com. Work Your Way: At Spreetail, we believe in empowering our employees to work in the way that suits them best through our Work Your Way approach. Each team member has the flexibility to choose where they work most effectively each week—whether that's from home, a coffee shop, or the office. While flexibility is key, we also value the power of in-person connection. That’s why we bring our corporate team together in Lincoln each quarter for a week of intentional collaboration, team building, community engagement, and our All-Hands meeting. It’s the best of both worlds: the freedom to work your way, with meaningful opportunities to connect and grow together. Please scroll to the bottom of the job posting to confirm that your state qualifies for the Work Your Way program.

Spreetail is looking for a Software Engineer III to join our team. Spreetail is a technology-driven e-commerce company that owns and operates the full retail supply chain (from manufacturer to customer doorstep). We move physical goods faster and more profitably than anyone else, powered by proprietary software, machine learning, and relentless operational focus. \n

How you will achieve success: Design, build, and maintain the backend services that power Spreetail's fulfillment operations — inventory management, order processing, carrier integrations, and exception handling. Own the reliability and correctness of transactional systems that FC operations depend on every hour of every day. Lead technical design within your pod — driving architecture decisions, establishing patterns, and holding a high bar in code review. Identify and address systemic issues: performance bottlenecks, data consistency gaps, fragile integrations Debug and resolve production issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders. Collaborate with product managers and FC operations teams to translate operational requirements into sound software design. Mentor SE II engineers and help raise the overall engineering quality of the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
