Software Engineer III – Corporate and Investment Bank Payments Technology (Account Services)

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase in Corporate and Investment Bank Payments Technology – Account Services, you will address complex business challenges by developing clear and effective solutions. You will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and services through advanced troubleshooting, automation, and monitoring while collaborating with development teams. Your expertise in end-to-end operations, system reliability, and scalability will help deliver operational success.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions, applying creative problem-solving to optimize system reliability and performance.
- Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations to reduce manual intervention.
- Monitor system performance, proactively identify and resolve potential issues, and troubleshoot complex production incidents.
- Implement infrastructure as code, configuration, and networking solutions for applications and platforms.
- Understand and utilize service-level indicators (SLIs) and service-level objectives (SLOs) to resolve issues before impacting customers.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Leverage observability tools to anticipate and mitigate risks proactively.
- Document processes, share knowledge, and contribute to communities of practice and emerging technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in agile processes, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices.
- Fluency in at least one programming language (Python, Java/Spring Boot, .NET).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly, both independently and in collaborative settings.
- Proactiveness in identifying challenges and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Knowledge of network security best practices.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
