Software Engineer in Test (Cypress)
Quality Assurance Engineer (Hands-on QA & Automation)
Deliver high-quality product experiences through smart testing, strong automation, and collaborative engineering. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys finding issues early, improving release confidence, and building practical test coverage that supports fast, reliable delivery.
You’ll lead manual and automated testing for modern SaaS applications, focusing on web quality, regression coverage, and release readiness. As part of a collaborative product engineering team, you’ll shape quality-driven development practices, enhance Cypress automation, and ensure teams ship with confidence.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and document manual end-to-end testing for:
- New features
- Regressions
- Integration flows
- End-to-end user journeys

Build, maintain, and improve automated test coverage using Cypress, ensuring tests are stable and maintainable.

Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and designers to:
- Understand requirements
- Define acceptance criteria
- Identify quality risks early

Investigate defects thoroughly and:
- Write clear bug reports
- Support triage
- Help teams understand root causes and impact

Support release validation and production quality by:
- Testing critical paths
- Reviewing results
- Enhancing regression confidence over time

Leverage AI tools to:
- Speed up planning, testing, and documentation
- Validate outputs with sound judgment

Contribute to better QA practices and workflows that:
- Improve product quality
- Enhance delivery agility
Requirements
essential for interview consideration:
✅ 3+ years of professional QA experience in a cloud-based product or SaaS environment, covering both manual and automated testing. ✅ Hands-on experience with Cypress for writing and maintaining automated tests. ✅ Strong understanding of:
- Test planning
- Test case design
- Regression testing
- Exploratory testing
- Defect reporting ✅ Experience testing:
- Modern web applications
- Complex cloud-based microservice architectures
- User workflows (with attention to detail and usability) ✅ Comfort working with:
- Developers
- Browser developer tools
- Bug-tracking systems
- Version-controlled environments ✅ Clear communication skills with a collaborative mindset, balancing speed, risk, and quality in delivery. ✅ Ability to:
- Work independently
- Manage test execution effectively
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies and release discussions ✅ Experience with:
- API testing
- SQL
- Test data validation ✅ Exposure to:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Integrating automated tests into delivery workflows
