About The Role
BT is transforming from legacy technology stacks to strategic platforms—a critical step for our future success. This role will be pivotal in leading the design and build of a new AI-based Integration platform, uniting existing systems to deliver:
- A unified DevSecOps experience across core platforms.
- Enhanced API and microservices adoption to accelerate migration.
- The replacement of legacy systems.
You will transition from talk to action—shaping how we integrate, innovate, and serve customers more effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of BT’s next-generation integration platform, ensuring it meets technical and business goals.
- Partner with stakeholders (internal and external) to align on challenges, track progress, and fulfil benefits.
- Manage a small team (potential mix of full-time and sub-contractor resources), balancing hands-on development with mentoring and guidance to ensure high-quality, secure outcomes.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery, including code quality, security best practices, and <strong>timely implementation</strong> of new features.
- Provide technical mentorship, nurturing team expertise while participating in developmentons where necessary to maintain alignment with technical standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on software development, particularly in integration-focused technologies.
- API Gateway expertise (strong preference for Kong or Google’s Apigee).
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (tools: Jenkins, Git, and associated workflows).
- RESTful API design and implementation—experience building scalable, well-documented interfaces.
- Proficient in Java, with preference for Spring Boot architectures.
- Cloud administration skills, including experience with:
- AWS
- Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Full-stack development, with momentum in JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.
- Familiarity with TypeScript and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as:
- Terraform or Pulumi for cloud provisioning.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps, Google Cloud Architect).
- Experience leveraging AI (LLMs) or machine learning within software development.
- Experience developing secure, compliance-conscious integration solutions and participating in DevSecOps initiatives.
