Senior iOS Engineer
The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning.
Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn whatever they’re reading—PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites—into audio. Their product ecosystem includes an iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and web app. Google recently named Speechify’s Chrome Extension the Chrome Extension of the Year, and Apple recognised it as App of the Day.
Today, nearly 200 people work at Speechify in a fully distributed environment—no office required. The team hails from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and top-tier PhDs like Stanford, along with experienced founders and leaders from companies like Stripe, Vercel, and Bolt.
About the Role
Speechify’s iOS app is now the #18 most downloaded productivity app on the App Store, and its recent win in Apple’s 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity highlights its growing impact. To support this growth and drive future innovation, we’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to:

Your Responsibilities
- Lead key engineering and product decisions with strategic thinking.
- Actively ship high-quality production code for the Speechify iOS app.
- Collaborate within a dedicated iOS product team.
- Shape the product roadmap through active participation in discussions.
- Maintain and enhance a complex, evolving app architecture as usage scales.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience in scaling tools and messaging for large user bases – Proven erosion in engineering across high-growth platforms.
- Track record of building products from early-stage to significant traction.
- Strong customer empathy: Will always focus on delivering seamless, inclusive experiences.
- Product-thinking mindset: Builds thoughtful evolutions and advocates for the right direction.
- Speed and focus: Ships ruthlessly—balances rapid iteration with diligent refinement.
- Technical expertise:
- Swift (deep expertise)
- SwiftUI (preferred)
- Multithreading patterns
- Strong Software Design Principles
- CI/CD infrastructure familiarity
- Fastlane implementation experience
