Senior iOS Engineer at Speechify
The Mission
Speechify is dedicated to removing reading as a barrier to learning. Over 50 million users rely on Speechify’s text-to-speech tools to convert PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. Our products span an iOS App, Android App, Mac App, Chrome Extension, and Web App.
Recognised as Google’s Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple’s App of the Day, Speechify operates as a fully distributed company—no office required—with nearly 200 team members worldwide. The team comprises frontend/backned engineers, AI researchers, and talent from top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, as well as founders of successful startups and graduates of elite PhD programs.
About the Role
To support the growing iOS App—currently ranked #18 in the Productivity App Store—and recently named the recipient of Apple’s 2025 Design Award for inclusivity, we are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to drive innovation, scale impact, and contribute to new projects.
This is a strategic role ideal for candidates who:

Note: The interview process includes multiple technical stages, all scheduled within one week.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership: Guide key engineering and product decisions to shape the future of Speechify’s iOS ecosystem.
- Proactive Development: Champion shipping high-quality production code to improve user experiences daily.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with dedicated product teams and own scalable app architecture maintenance.
- Roadmap Impact: Actively contribute to product discussions and drive product roadmap decisions.
- Continuous Innovation: Push boundaries by enhancing complex app architectures and optimizing performance.
