This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer - Platform / Core Infrastructure based in United Kingdom.
This is an exciting opportunity to build the distributed infrastructure powering next-generation AI-driven security technology. In this role, you will design and scale highly reliable platform systems that support complex cloud-native workloads across multiple deployment environments. Working closely with software engineers, AI specialists, and security researchers, you will help create resilient, high-performance infrastructure that directly impacts product capabilities and developer experience. The position offers significant ownership, technical autonomy, and the chance to solve challenging engineering problems in a fast-moving environment where innovation and continuous learning are highly valued.
Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable platform infrastructure capable of supporting deployments across multiple cloud providers and environments, including SaaS and on-premises.
- Build and enhance core platform services while contributing to distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Optimize cloud resources, networking, storage, compute, and observability to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Own projects throughout the full development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, AI, and security teams to enable efficient product development and deliver high-quality platform capabilities.
- Design resilient systems by implementing disaster recovery, business continuity, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Continuously improve internal infrastructure, deployment processes, automation, and developer experience while helping shape technical direction.

Requirements:
- Proven experience building and operating scalable distributed systems on cloud platforms such as AWS or similar environments.
- Strong expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, CDK, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous systems, and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize performance across cloud services, databases, networking, and compute infrastructure.
- Comfortable learning new programming languages and technologies, including TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to navigate ambiguity and evolving technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a practical mindset and willingness to work across multiple layers of the technology stack.
- Experience designing resilient systems with disaster recovery and business continuity strategies is highly valued.
- Additional experience with multi-environment deployments, observability platforms, developer tooling, security products, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, or startup environments would be considered an advantage.
