I am partnered with a smaller size Energy Trading firm in London who are currently undergoing 15+ greenfield projects and need someone to come in and take the project on fully autonomously and build from scratch. You are not required to do any meetings but just deal directly with C-Level and Heads of Engineering with no need to also worry about managing a team.
This engineer will take requirements from the POC created by the business and need to make it into a prototype and fix any issues that pop up. This includes having to work a series of vibe code created by internal tooling which needs fixing before being made into production. Most importantly, their work is greenfield and it means you are bringing high impact results from day one working on the latest and the brand new that the business is focusing on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
