Overview

The Software Engineer in Quality is a senior engineering role focused on building and embedding quality engineering practices across the organisation. This is not a traditional testing role — the successful candidate will bring strong software engineering skills to bear on the challenge of ensuring our software is testable, observable, and reliably high-quality. Working alongside Senior QA Engineers within the Quality Assurance team, this person will own the tools, frameworks, and pipelines that underpin quality at Lendscape. A significant part of the role will include leveraging AI tools to migrate frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Cypress Migration: Lead the migration from the legacy QFTest suite to our existing Cypress framework, expanding coverage and improving maintainability in the process.
  • Test Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD testing pipelines to enable fast, reliable feedback across the engineering organisation.
  • Performance Testing: Establish and own our performance testing capability, including selection and implementation of an appropriate toolset (e.g. k6, Gatling, or JMeter) and integration into release processes.
  • Coverage Measurement: Maintain and improve test coverage reporting using JaCoCo, defining coverage standards and working with engineering teams to close gaps.
  • Quality Standards: Define and champion quality engineering standards and best practices across the engineering organisation, including testability requirements, coding standards, and quality gates.
  • Shift-Left Testing: Embed quality thinking earlier in the development lifecycle by working closely with product managers, developers, and architects during design and planning.
  • Tooling & Observability: Evaluate, introduce, and maintain static analysis, code quality, and observability tooling to support engineering teams in identifying and resolving issues early.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Senior QA Engineers and software developers to identify automation opportunities, share knowledge, and raise the quality bar across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
