About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our Team at Moor Road, Leeds. This role exists to support the Systems Engineering team with design, development, optimisation and deployment of electrical, control, instrumentation and automation (EICA) for our entire product portfolio, globally. The role involves electrical design, PLC and HMI/SCADA design, remote software/electrical support, and technical problem solving.
You will be working closely with incumbent Systems Engineering team and wider engineering teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient control systems while supporting innovation and continuous improvement. This opportunity would suit a proactive individual with strong analytical and problem solving skills who is looking to join a stable, international engineering business with long-term growth plans.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing electrical designs/schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Assisting with the development and optimisation of industrial PLC/SCADA control systems.
- Supporting PLC programming, software integration, and troubleshooting.
- Supporting HMI and SCADA development and modifications where required.
- Assisting with testing, commissioning, and fault finding activities.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant British and European standards.
- Supporting technical documentation and engineering records.
- Working collaboratively with wider mechanical & process engineering teams and other stakeholders.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within engineering and wider business.
- Assisting with industrial communication network integration including Ethernet and CC-Link systems.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience would be considered.
- Proven experience in electrical and PLC software design roles.
- Experience in controls, or industrial systems engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical and PLC systems.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Desirable
- Experience with combustion or thermal processing systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite).
- Experience managing and creating engineering documentation, ECR’s, BOMs, technical reports etc.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (EN 60204, ISO 12100, EN746-2).

Working Pattern & Travel

Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with one day per week working from home.

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum.
