The role
Businesses make critical decisions based on financial models. Yet, the tools for building these models are decades behind, making financial modelling one of the worst-tooled forms of programming. This company is fixing that, building an AI operating system for strategic decision-making, starting with an AI add-in for complex financial modelling in Excel. This is a multi-billion dollar opportunity, tackled by a small team of top-tier engineers from leading institutions and tech firms.

You'll join a lean, high-calibre engineering team, building a foundational product that redefines how companies operate. This isn't a role where you'll just use AI; you'll be building with AI, leveraging the latest models and tools to ship high-quality code at speed. You'll own features end-to-end, from Rust services to frontend, with significant scope to shape the product and become a technical leader.
The work
- Ship high-quality code at speed, leveraging the latest AI models and tools. This means deep expertise in prompting, model selection, and AI-assisted development.
- Own features end-to-end, from Rust services and backend infrastructure to the frontend experience.
- Optimise for performance: write fast software, remove allocations, aggressively cache, and fine-tune queries.
- Enhance the core AI agent by improving its harness, tools, and context management.
- Contribute to backend and infrastructure reliability, including low-level bug fixes and CI/CD optimisation.
What You Bring
- A demonstrable track record as a top-tier engineer, evidenced by significant impact and technical depth.
- Proven expertise in AI-driven development: you don't just use AI, you master it for coding, prompting, and model selection.
- High agency and determination to tackle complex problems and drive solutions independently.
- Ability to work 5 days a week, in person, from the Hoxton (London) office.
