About the Role
Cisco's Webex Real-time Media Engineering Group is reshaping the future of collaboration by creating intuitive, immersive experiences across all devices and locations—whether in meeting rooms, at desks, or on mobile devices.
This role powers iconic products like Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center. As part of our team, you’ll ensure seamless, high-quality interactions in a hybrid work environment, leveraging cutting-edge technology and AI.
Location & Work Model
- Located in Cisco’s central London office (near Liverpool Street Station).
- Hybrid work model: Office presence three days a week for collaboration.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, or Physics.
- Coding Experience: 3+ years of professional programming in C++.
- Willingness to quickly master new languages.
- Linux Development: Proficiency in Linux development (system, script, or application).
- Virtualisation & Containers:
- Strong understanding of virtual machines and containers.
- Hands-on experience with Docker.
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory, but advantageous)
- Familiarity with:
- Kubernetes infrastructures.
- Windows development environments.
- Experience with:
- Data Science / AI methodologies.
- Networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Cryptography principles.
- Working knowledge of:
- Audio/video coding (e.g., Opus, H.264).
- Git workflows, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
