Software Engineer

Software Developer - London, Hybrid

A growing professional services business in London is looking for a talented Software Developer to join their Technology and Data Team.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end role for someone who takes genuine satisfaction in building software that people actually use, production systems that make a real difference to how a business operates—not just prototypes that never see the light of day.

What Is In It for You?

  • Salary up to £60,000
  • Hybrid working (2-3 days in central London)
  • Company benefits
  • Career progression

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitoring, debugging, and improving live systems, taking ownership of what you ship—not just handing it off.
  • Designing, building, and deploying full-stack web applications and internal tooling used daily across the business.
  • Writing clean, well-structured Python for APIs, backend services, and data pipelines.
  • Deploying and managing applications in cloud environments, keeping production systems reliable and performant.
  • Using containerisation tools (e.g., Docker) to package and run services consistently across environments.
  • Collaborating with the wider team to build data infrastructure supporting reporting and analysis.
  • Contributing to technical design discussions and code reviews as the team continues to grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least one to two years of commercial software development experience.
  • Strong Python skills—comfortable writing scripts, services, and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of cloud deployment.
  • Solid experience with both front-end and back-end development.
  • A problem-solving mindset.
  • Exposure to containerisation tools (Docker) is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Someone who thrives in a small, fast-moving team and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Why This Role Is Worth Your Attention

In many organisations, developers at this stage often find themselves siloed—pinned to one layer of the stack, one corner of the product, with limited visibility of the bigger picture. This role is exactly the opposite.

You’ll gain genuinely broad experience across:

  • Cloud infrastructure and deployment
  • Data tooling, pipelines, and reporting systems
  • Full-stack product development
  • Workflow automation and internal platform building

The team is small enough that your voice carries real weight, and the business is growing quickly enough that the work will keep evolving. There’s no bureaucratic distance between you and the people using what you build—making all the difference.
