About the Role
Software Engineer – YAML Experience (AI Training)
What if your precision with YAML configurations and structured data could directly influence how AI systems understand and operate in the real world? We're looking for detail-oriented Software Engineers to review, author, and evaluate YAML-based configurations and workflows — helping ensure the AI systems powering tomorrow's technology are built on a solid, reliable foundation.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for engineers who love working close to the metal — configuration files, schemas, and system logic are your natural habitat.
- Organization: Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox)
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Responsibilities
- Author, review, and maintain YAML files used for configuration, data pipelines, and system definitions
- Ensure YAML structures are accurate, well-organized, and compliant with required schemas
- Identify formatting issues, logical inconsistencies, and edge cases in configuration files
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to support reliable system behavior and data quality
- Apply sharp attention to detail to prevent errors that could impact downstream systems
- Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
