Clear-Com Engineering Team is currently seeking a Software Engineering Placement to contribute to the design, development, analysis, and testing of intercom products as part of an Agile development team. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who demonstrates strong interest in networking technologies, and development on embedded operating systems on Linux, Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android. This 48-week Internship offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team of talented engineers that works in an Agile way to develop state-of-the-art intercom systems. Come join our team!

This role will be based in our Cambridge Engineering office located in the Cambridge Research Park.

In This Position You Will

  • Design and develop new features mainly in C, C++, Electron, Javascript or NodeJs for professional intercom products
  • Use Agile and lean methodologies in a scrum team with a dedicated mentor
  • Write and validate unit and integration tests
  • Collaborate on code reviews and update functional specifications

What You Need To Be a Good Fit

  • You are a good team player and a good communicator.
  • Motivated with great attention to detail.
  • Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced development team.
  • Appetite to learn new products and tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under deadlines.
  • Familiar with programming languages such as C, C++, Javascript, Typescript, Electron.
  • Ability to use multiple operating systems (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in REST APIs.
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash and Python).

  • Maintain and build upon existing features.
  • Learn from and share your experience with a great team of engineers.
  • Contribute to the new product development cycle (from design to implementation to testing).

  • You must currently be studying for a STEM degree.
  • This is not a role that we can provide visa sponsorship.
