Are you a senior software leader who can quickly understand complex systems?

Do you enjoy combining architecture, hands-on engineering and technology strategy?

Would you like the opportunity to shape the next phase of a growing software capability?

Our client, an innovative technology-led engineering organisation, is seeking an Interim Software Engineering Manager for an initial six-month contract. Why This Role Is Great:

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of the technical direction and evolution of a complex software platform.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to align software architecture, delivery priorities and wider business objectives.
  • Assess existing systems and identify opportunities to improve scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
  • Shape future cloud, SaaS, digital product and AI opportunities at a strategic level.
  • Provide architectural guidance and pragmatic technical leadership to an established engineering team.
  • Strengthen development standards, governance and technical decision-making.
  • Remain close to the technology through design reviews, code reviews and occasional hands-on contribution.
  • Influence cross-functional teams spanning software, systems engineering, product development and senior leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
