Software Engineering Manager
Engineering Manager | Platform Engineering
Salary: Up to £114,000 + Bonus + Shares
Location: Fully Remote | UK
We're working with a well-established, product-led technology business serving a large consumer customer base through a modern digital platform. As the organisation continues to invest in its engineering capability, they're developing new teams to support the next phase of growth, scalability, and architectural maturity.
This Engineering Manager role offers the opportunity to lead a newly formed engineering team with ownership across core platform services. You'll combine technical leadership, people management, and architectural thinking to help shape scalable engineering practices and contribute to the wider technology strategy.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and grow a newly formed engineering team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Define technical direction across services, influencing engineering standards, platform architecture, and long-term technology decisions.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, and Engineering leadership to deliver scalable solutions aligned with wider business objectives.
- Coach and develop engineers while driving engineering quality, delivery, and operational excellence.
- Act as a central technical stakeholder, communicating architectural decisions and engineering strategy across the business.

What we're looking for:
- Experience leading software engineering teams as an Engineering Manager or senior technical lead.
- Strong software engineering background with experience building scalable distributed systems, ideally with Golang or within a polyglot environment.
- An understanding of platform and enterprise architecture principles, with the ability to balance immediate delivery against long-term technical strategy.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, low-hierarchy environment with a high degree of ownership.
