Software Engineering Squad Lead

Technical Team Lead

hackajob is collaborating with Gamma to connect them with exceptional professionals for this role.

About Gamma

At Gamma we provide voice, data, and mobile solutions to businesses across the UK, Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. When you join us, you’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that’s transforming how businesses connect and communicate globally.

We’re growing fast, but we never lose sight of what matters: our people. Whether you're looking to develop your skills, take on new challenges, or make a meaningful impact, Gamma is the place to do it.

About the Role

As a Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring a small development team to deliver high-quality projects aligned with our product strategy. This role exists to provide both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise across systems within the Group Products space, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable while meeting business and customer needs.

Responsibilities

Daily tasks you’ll likely be involved with include:

  • Leading, motivating, and organising a small team of engineers to deliver projects and product enhancements
  • Designing technical systems and software solutions, ensuring best practices across architecture and non-functional requirements (e.g. security, scalability, performance)
  • Writing code and implementing new features across modern technology stacks
  • Reviewing code and driving high standards for quality, testing, and maintainability
  • Championing automated testing and CI/CD best practices
  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, and managing delivery using Jira in line with Group processes
  • Supporting product discovery, scoping, and accurate estimation of time and cost
  • Identifying technical debt and driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
