Engineering Tech Lead, Cloud and Platform Security

We're looking for an Engineering Tech Lead to join our Cloud and Platform Security team. In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of security, data and software engineering - translating complex, ambiguous business and security challenges into scalable, well-architected data solutions. You'll be a force multiplier for the team: setting technical direction, managing engineers, and partnering closely with security, product, and platform stakeholders to ensure our data systems are secure, reliable, and built for scale.

This is not just a hands-on engineering role - it requires someone who can think strategically, communicate across disciplines, and turn business intent into technical reality. A core part of this mission is using data to deliver curated, actionable security guidance and intelligent prioritization directly to application teams, empowering them to make better and more impactful security decisions faster.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Principle Cybersecurity Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist cyber expertise and creating solutions that protect the organization's systems and networks against actual and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.

What You’ll Do In The Role

Technical Leadership

  • Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for security engineering within the Cloud and Platform Security domain
  • Architect end-to-end data pipelines and platforms that support security telemetry, compliance reporting, and risk analytics
  • Establish engineering standards, best practices, and patterns for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access control
  • Own key technical decisions and trade-offs, and communicate them clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders

Problem Synthesis & Solution Design

  • Partner with security, engineering, product, and compliance teams to deeply understand complex business and security problems
  • Break down ambiguous, multi-faceted challenges and translate them into actionable, well-scoped technical solutions
  • Drive discovery and requirements processes - asking the right questions to surface the real problem before jumping to solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
