Software Engineer – Space, Defence & Intelligence

About the Role
Our Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit delivers contemporary and innovative technical solutions for government agencies tackling their most complex challenges. We design, build, and operate mission-critical, technically complex systems that ensure our clients—and society—remain safe and secure.
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our cross-functional team, collaborating with clients to define, guide, and assure the delivery of integrated solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity within a highly rewarding environment, growing your expertise with structured learning and development.
While we prefer candidates who meet all requirements, we also consider highly skilled individuals who fulfil most criteria.
Security Clearance Requirement
Due to the sensitive nature of the project, candidates must either currently hold or be eligible for UK security clearance. Eligibility criteria include:
- Sole British nationality
- Resided in the UK for the past 10 years
- No more than 28 consecutive days spent outside the UK in the last five years

Location & Hybrid Work
This role is primarily based on a secure client site, requiring 5-day-per-week attendance. Flexibility may occasionally be granted, but arrangements must align with security constraints—approved in advance with the project team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to cutting-edge software projects supporting mission-critical operations.
- Play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering advanced software capabilities, ensuring resilience, security, and performance.
- Implement new features, optimise existing systems, and enhance scalability and usability.
- Handle configuration, integration, and maintenance of complex deployment environments.
- Support live system changes to ensure continuous, secure delivery.
- Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and technical experts to develop innovative solutions.
- Foster a problem-solving mindset, adapting to evolving client needs with precision and creativity.
Technical Requirements
We seek Software Engineers with expertise in one or more technologies, supporting full-stack development or deep specialisation (e.g., Java, C++, or Python-focused).
