THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Software Integration & Verification Engineer to provide support for core software components within a complex, distributed system. You will work closely with software engineers to integrate, deploy, and verify sophisticated software solutions in a Linux-based environment. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Linux, containerisation, and virtualisation, along with the ability to write and execute verification plans and scripts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide SWIVV support for core software components
- Integrate complex software into distributed systems
- Deploy, configure, and debug software on Linux targets
- Write, execute, and maintain verification plans, procedures, and scripts
- Support containerised deployments using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes
- Contribute to software builds, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management
- Work collaboratively across engineering, integration, and project teams
- Produce clear and accurate technical documentation
- Support risk management, reporting, and delivery activities
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Linux operating systems, infrastructure, and scripting (Bash, Shell, Python)
- Strong understanding of containerisation and virtualisation
- Experience integrating software within large or distributed systems
- Working knowledge of C/C++ and Java (Python desirable)
- Understanding of software architectures and TCP/IP networking
- Experience with:
- Software integration and system-level testing
- Unit and wider software testing
- CI/CD and build tools (e.g. Jenkins, Git)
- Configuration management (e.g. Bitbucket, Artifactory)

DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Defence sector experience
- UML-based design awareness
- Kubernetes and CNCF ecosystem knowledge
- Model-driven development or MATLAB/Simulink
- Software assurance, static analysis, and SBOM tooling
- DevOps or Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible)
- Automated testing and CI/CD optimisation
- Cyber security awareness and Linux hardening
