Business Context

The Energy Management Software & Services (EM S&S) division brings together 5 software entities, Digital Energy (DE) Solutions, and services into one unified organization covering the full value chain, from design and build to operation and lifecycle optimization. It combines advanced digital platforms, integrated system solutions, and services to deliver energy intelligence and measurable customer outcomes.

This position scope covers the Software business, which brings together 5 software entities (ETAP, Digital Grid, DE Software (EPO, EBO, PME), Planon, and IT mgmt.) delivering digital platforms, applications, and analytics across power systems, buildings, grid, data centers, and workplace domains. The Software scope plays a critical role as the intelligence and platform layer, enabling data-driven insights, digital services, and scalable, recurring business models across domains.

You will join the S&S Strategic Intelligence & Planning team. In this role, you will lead intelligence activities for S&S Software scope, directly contribute strategic decision-making for business, shape strategic priorities, and identify growth opportunities in a dynamic evolving, software-driven energy landscape.

Main Responsibilities

  • Software Market & Competition Intelligence Program

    • Lead cross-entity market and competitive intelligence across the five software businesses, building a coherent and forward-looking view of a fragmented and fast-evolving landscape.
    • Synthesize market dynamics across domains (power, buildings, grid, data center, workplace) and translate them into portfolio-level strategic implications.
    • Leverage and orchestrate external research partners to close knowledge gaps and enrich internal perspectives.
    • Continuously track ecosystem moves (partnerships, M&A, platform ecosystems, cloud/AI players) to inform positioning.
    • Analyze software industry shifts (AI, SaaS models, platformization, pricing evolution) and assess impact for SW strategy + provide M&A prescreening support.
    • Deliver competitor deep dive, identifying key players, platform strategies, and emerging disruptors across domains.
    • Deliver a Competition & Industry Newsletter to key stakeholders on a recurring basis.
    • Deliver high-impact intelligence outputs (e.g., executive briefings, newsletter) tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Intelligence Coordination & Governance

    • Build and structure a common Intelligence framework (methodologies, tools, cadence, and deliverables).
    • Ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility of insights across the organization.
    • Act as a central orchestrator, connecting inputs from multiple software teams into a unified narrative.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Operate as a bridge across entities and leadership layers.
    • Partner with software entity strategy, marketing, and product teams to support portfolio-level strategic decisions.
    • Act as key interface within Corporate / EM / S&S strategy community to share best practices, methodology, and tools, ensure knowledge exchange.
    • Support leadership with executive-level synthesis and decision materials on high-priority topics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA from engineering or business school (or equivalent relevant field).
  • Experience in strategy, consulting, marketing, or software/tech business analysis.
  • Working proficiency in English, French, or other language is a plus.
  • Strong ability to structure and synthesize complex, multi-entity environments into clear strategic insights.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data into concise, executive-level storytelling (PowerPoint, dashboards, reports).
  • Great stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and seniority levels.
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working in a global, cross-cultural environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in software, digital platforms, or AI-driven businesses.
  • Background in strategic marketing in tech/software companies or consulting firms.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
