Software M&A Associate

Location: Remote RP16426

Finatal is partnered with a fast-scaling Software buy-and-build platform seeking an M&A Associate to join their team. The firm acquires niche, mission-critical software businesses, focusing on long-term growth through operational support and decentralized value creation.

This is a full-cycle role, offering exposure across origination, execution, and post-acquisition strategy. You will work closely with Corporate Development leadership and portfolio company teams, gaining hands-on experience across both investing and operational initiatives.

This is a remote opportunity, open to candidates from across Europe.

What you’ll do

  • Engage directly with founders, intermediaries, and advisors to evaluate acquisition opportunities and assess strategic fit
  • Support the development and management of a high-quality M&A pipeline, including market mapping and target prioritisation
  • Conduct early-stage analysis, including business model assessment, financial review, and market positioning
  • Build financial models and support end-to-end due diligence across commercial, financial, and operational workstreams
  • Draft investment materials, including IC memos, deal summaries, and strategic rationale for internal decision-making
  • Coordinate deal execution alongside advisors and internal stakeholders through to close
  • Contribute to post-acquisition integration planning, including synergy identification and value creation initiatives
  • Partner with portfolio companies to support operational improvements, growth strategy, and performance tracking

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
