At Logistex, we’re looking for a Software Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in how we build, develop, and scale our software engineering capability. This is a high-impact role with real progression potential, designed to become a key number two within the function as it grows.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading recruitment, onboarding, and development of software engineers
- Driving resource planning to ensure the team can meet current and future project demands
- Managing and improving software processes, quality controls, and KPIs
- Supporting project delivery through strong stakeholder collaboration
- Mentoring and developing team members to maximise performance and engagement
- Providing structure, reporting, and visibility across software operations

You’ll work closely with project management, sales, IT, and customer-facing teams to ensure alignment across the business.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in software delivery and/or development environments
- Strong project management mindset with the ability to prioritise and organise effectively
- Excellent Excel and reporting skills (comfortable working with data and KPIs)
- Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels
- Someone who enjoys driving continuous improvement and change
- Ability to demonstrate control, flexibility, and ownership in a fast-paced environment
Experience & background

- 5+ years’ experience in software development, ideally with leadership exposure
- Experience leading or supporting recruitment and team development
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
- Degree in Computer Science or similar (preferred)

Location & benefits
- Based in Kettering (hybrid working) with occasional UK travel
- Minimum one day per week onsite
- 37.5 hours per week
- Standard pre-employment checks including DBS and references
