Software Quality Assurance Lead

Overview of the Role

This position offers two distinct paths for QA professionals:

  • One suited to those who excel in building QA from the ground up — starting with no baseline to establish.
  • Another designed for stepping into an existing but maturing QA function, steering it towards the next stage—automation-driven and AI-enabled.

For this hybrid-and-lead QA role, you’ll be leveraging an already-bedded digital platform with real-world usage. Here’s what makes it stand out:

The Opportunity

Core Objective

Build upon what exists, shaping QA’s direction across both legacy and emerging systems—while ensuring the vector for optimized efficiency is automated testing.

Key Characteristics of the Team

  • Functional QA already embedded in delivery.
  • Manual testing predominates, with automation initiatives nascent.
  • AI-driven platforms changing testing needs—current gaps require someone to own and define them.

Why This Role Appeals

✔ Tangible baseline to work with Clarity of purpose: You’re stacking solutions on top of a proven platform vs starting from a blank canvas.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
