Your Role as Software Sales Specialist

The Software Sales Specialist is a seasoned subject matter expert who is the demand generation engine for the software business. Your primary objective? Convert qualified sales leads by identifying new opportunities, presenting tailored solutions, and closing deals through strategic insights, commercial persuasiveness, and collaborative execution.

You will work closely with Client Managers, pre-sales architects, and Software/GTM Leadership to design the best solutions that address client pain points, drive Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), and maximise business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales and Pre-Sales Engagement

    • Partner with Sales to challenge Request for Proposals (RFPs) with innovative, value-driven alternatives rooted in deep industry expertise.
    • Lead pipeline generation, focusing on Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) KPIs and driving incremental revenue by engaging partners and customers.
    • Design and execute sales strategies aligned with software leadership, tailored to regional or country-specific markets.
  • Solution Design and Commercial Negotiation

    • Build and position Enterprise Agreements and License Agreements to maximise client investment while aligning with contractual and pricing objectives.
    • Serve as the go-to SME for Client Managers, navigating clients through software licensing complexities to select the optimal options.
    • Upsell Enterprise Agreement opportunities across entire markets, addressing gaps not covered by traditional clients.

  • Technical and Competitive Expertise

    • Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of NTT DATA software solutions, market trends, and competitor strategies (including Cisco, Zscaler, Palo Alto, and Fortinet).
    • Address complex technical challenges during the sales process with confident, data-backed discussions with stakeholders, including the C-Suite.
    • Collaborate with pre-sales architects to design client-specific solutions that transform business requirements into actionable outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Work with internal stakeholders (Project Teams, Finance, Legal) to ensure deals are financial sound, compliant, and technically feasible.
    • Lead accellerated negotiations to craft partnership winning solutions that align with client needs.

Requirements

Knowledge, Attributes & Experience

✅ Sales and Technical Acumen

  • Seasoned experience in Sales (managed IT services, systems integration, hosting, subscription software, and IT management).
  • Expertise in solution-based selling, preferably in enterprise software domains and C-Suite interactions.
  • Proven success in closing high-value software deals through exchange and collaboration.

✅ Commercial Intelligence

  • Deep understanding of software licensing, enterprise agreements, and value-based pricing models.
  • Cost-effective approach to commercial negotiations, balancing course budgets and client needs.

✅ Domain-Specific Subject Matter Expertise

  • Well-versed in vendor licensing models (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Knowledge of competitive landscape to outmanoeuvre rivals with proven strategies.

✅ Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication along with advanced interrogation.
  • Assertive yet cooperative mindset.
  • strong collaborative abilities when working cross-functionally with client facing teams and internal stakeholders.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

📂 Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Systems, Sales, or related field.

🔧 Preferred Certifications

  • SPIN Solutions Selling or similar frameworks.
  • NTT DATA product/technology certifications are highly valued.
