Software Sales Specialist

About the Role
Title: Software Sales Specialist
Your day at NTT DATA – The seasoned demand generator for software business. Your primary objective? To pursue and land qualified sales leads, enhance pre-sales processes, and drive a high-quality pipeline.
Key Purpose
As a Software Sales Specialist, you will:
- Identify new opportunities from targets in existing accounts.
- Present end-to-end software solutions, value propositions, partner configurations, cost structures, and tailored revenue models to clients.
- Play a pivotal role in engaged selling, supporting sales processes alongside Client Managers.
- Collaborate with pre-sales architects to design the best possible solutions for clients.
Responsibilities
- Co-develop win strategies with sales teams, challenging sub-optimal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) with alternative, value-driven approaches.
- Lead software sales engagements, including driving pricing, commercial terms, and contractual negotiations.
- Own Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) KPIs, developing and executing tailored sales strategies regionally and globally.
- Guide and coordinate enterprise agreements, including license components such as Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and Enterprise License Agreements (ELAs).
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in software licensing, providing guidance to clients based on their needs.
- Identify upsell opportunities from within highly targeted enterprise accounts, excluding areas already handled by Client Managers or Client Partners.
- Maintain deep expertise in technology domains and solutions, supporting the sale and design phases.
- Drive conversations with potential and existing clients who drive value through meaningful insights.
- Keep an updated awareness of market pricing, competitors’ strategies, and strategies for entering new markets.
- Engage partners, customers, and prospects to drive incremental pipeline growth.

Knowledge & Attributes
- Communication & collaboration: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with laser-sharp questioning abilities.
- Assertive influence: Confidence stemming from seasoned sales and technology expertise, with the ability to navigate complex business conversations.
- Subject matter mastery: Deep understanding of software licensing, Enterprise Agreements, Solutions Selling motions, and key vendors such as Cisco, Zscaler, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Market awareness: Strong insight into competitors’ positioning and ability to apply competitive selling strategies effectively.
- Negotiation skills: Seasoned experience in crafting mutually beneficial solutions for clients, partners, and the organization.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology, systems, sales, or a related field.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- SPIN and/or Solution Selling certifications.
- Vendor-specific or related technology certifications.
Required Experience
- Seasoned sales/technology experience in:
- Managed IT Services
- Systems Integration
- Hosting
- Subscription Software Services
- IT Management
- Solution-based selling: Proven ability to successfully sell complex software solutions to the C-suite in high-value GTM domains.
- Client/account management: Deep experience in managing account relationships and high-touch engagements.
