Security Software Security Engineer – Hybrid Role
This role is a hybrid position, with an expectation of 3–5 days on-site, given the nature of the work.

The location for this role is **Hertfordshire**.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide security across the full product lifecycle, from concept to in-service support.
- Provide technical expertise to software and project teams, advising on:
- Security requirements
- Security techniques
- Architecture and design patterns
- Coding standards and best practices
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks for software projects.
- Conduct security assessments and risk analyses, identifying vulnerabilities and developing mitigation strategies.
- Support continuous improvement by refining:
- Processes
- Tools
- Methodologies
- Maintain clear, up-to-date security documentation.
- Generate reports to track:
- Security activities
- Remediation efforts

What You’ll Be Working On

What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in complex software development, particularly in sectors such as:
- Defence
- Automotive
- Aerospace
- Telecoms
- Knowledge of:
- Software security standards
- Best practices
- Risk management
- Excellent ability to:
- Collaborate and lead technically
- Communicate effectively
- Solve complex problems
- Interest in emerging technologies and security challenges.
- A plus (but not essential):
- Experience with embedded software or firmware
- Either:
- A degree in a STEM field
- Equivalent relevant experience
- Comfortable working with engineers from other disciplines.
