Software Support Engineer - Up to 42k
Location: Bath
About the Role
A growing technology company within the healthcare sector is looking for a Software Support Engineer to join its expanding technical team.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position supporting the installation, configuration, validation, and day-to-day operation of specialist software platforms used by companies in the medical field operating in highly regulated environments.
Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring successful software deployments, providing technical support, troubleshooting complex software issues, and delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the software lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- Strong software troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills
- Experience supporting software applications in Windows-based environments
- Experience supporting both hardware and software environments
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and prioritise multiple support requests
- Strong IT knowledge, including Windows operating systems and database technologies
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a technical support team
- Knowledge of MSSQL and/or Oracle databases
- Full UK driving licence

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing remote technical support and troubleshooting for software applications and instrument integration issues
- Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting software solutions and supporting infrastructure
- Supporting integrations with analytical and laboratory instrumentation
- Troubleshooting communication issues involving RS232, USB, Ethernet, COM ports, and device drivers
- Delivering customer training and assisting with software implementations and onboarding
- Supporting database configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and system migrations
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and user guides
- Assisting with software validation activities within highly regulated environments
- Working closely with customers to understand technical requirements and deliver effective software solutions
- Travelling to customer sites across the UK, with occasional European and international travel
