Introduction

THIS ROLE IS BASED IN IBM HURSLEY AND YOU MUST HAVE PERMANENT RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK

Data storage is at the heart of everything we do in life. From every photo to every financial transaction, data is generated and stored somewhere in the world, be it on a customer’s own premises or in the cloud. The FlashSystem team at IBM Hursley creates resilient, high-performance and intelligent storage software that keeps business-critical systems and data available 24/7.

We are looking for graduates and early-career software engineers who enjoy solving problems, learning new technologies and working as part of a collaborative engineering team. You will help develop the software platform that underpins IBM FlashSystem, gaining hands-on experience building enterprise software while working alongside experienced mentors and engineers who will support your technical and professional development. This is an opportunity to develop your technical skills, contribute to real customer-facing products and build a long-term engineering career within IBM.

About IBM FlashSystem

IBM FlashSystem delivers high-performance, highly-functional solutions that make hybrid cloud storage simple for every enterprise, from hospitals to data centres. For businesses to improve their levels of insight and accuracy, analytics and AI applications are consuming enormous amounts of data. Managing, moving and storing large data volumes with efficiency and performance requires a modern IT infrastructure with wide-ranging capabilities – from data reduction to enterprise-grade business continuity features such as ransomware detection/recovery and replication. The IBM FlashSystem family of data storage solutions is designed to meet all these needs while reducing costs and complexity. IBM FlashSystem combines the performance of flash and a Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe)-optimised architecture with the IBM FlashCore technology and IBM Storage Virtualize software. https://www.ibm.com/flashsystem

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
