Software Team Lead – Bristol (SC Eligible)
Hybrid working
We’re looking for a hands-on Software Team Lead to lead a high-performing engineering team in Bristol, combining strong people leadership with deep technical expertise.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hybrid role—driving software delivery while contributing to system architecture, integration, and complex engineering challenges.
The Role
As a Software Team Lead, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–5 software engineers
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full software lifecycle:
- Requirements analysis
- Design & architecture
- Implementation
- Testing & integration
- Delivery
- Play a key role in system-level decision making, including software integration with hardware and networks
- Manage project schedules, priorities, and team budget
- Ensure delivery aligns with customer requirements and business objectives

Technical Environment
You’ll work with modern tools and technologies including:
- C++ (modern standards)
- Visual Studio, Git, Jira
- Qt framework (desirable)
- Simulation-based and networked systems
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading software or engineering teams
- Strong background in developing complex, high-integrity systems
- Experience balancing people management with technical leadership
- Solid understanding of:
- Systems architecture & integration
- Requirements definition
- Software lifecycle delivery
- Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills in complex, ambiguous environments
