Software Team Lead - Tech for Good Bristol (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

Up to £65,000 + excellent benefits

Are you a Software Team Lead who wants your work to genuinely make a difference? The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining line management and team development with hands-on coding. You’ll:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and QA specialists
  • Drive agile delivery and foster a high-performing team culture
  • Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders on roadmap planning
  • Contribute to architecture and technical direction
  • Stay involved in coding (C#/.NET), testing, and problem-solving

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide, coach, and develop software engineers and testers
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, maintainable software products
  • Work closely with product teams to define and prioritise roadmaps
  • Drive technical decisions and maintain architectural best practices
  • Represent the team externally and promote a culture of collaboration

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven line management/team leadership experience
  • Strong experience working in agile environments (Scrum/Lean)
  • Solid background in C#/.NET development
  • Experience with integration and unit testing
  • Passion for high-quality, maintainable software
  • Ability to balance delivery, quality, and team development efficiently
