Software Test Engineering Intern
We are looking for Software Test Engineering Interns to join us at our Melbourn headquarters for a three-month paid internship. You will test the client-server software that drives our liquid handling instruments, working hands-on with real products in a laboratory environment.
This is a fully onsite role, and a great first step for someone starting out in software testing who wants to learn how quality is built into scientific instruments. You will execute manual test cases, log and report defects, and work alongside our software, hardware and QA teams to investigate and resolve issues.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Executing manual test cases for client-server software and liquid handling instruments.
- Verifying system functionality and identifying software or hardware issues.
- Recording, documenting, and reporting defects accurately.
- Assisting with setting up and maintaining test environments.
- Performing regression, integration, and system testing.
- Collaborating with software, hardware, and QA teams to investigate and resolve issues.
- Maintaining accurate test documentation and test reports.
- Following quality standards, testing procedures, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Supporting continuous improvement of testing processes and product quality.

The Essentials
- Studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline such as Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Information Technology.
- A basic understanding of client-server applications and computer systems.
- Basic knowledge of software testing concepts, including functional and regression testing.
