Role Overview
Software Validation Technician/Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Test firmware releases against user requirements, validating them against their specifications.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, scripts, and systems to support the testing process.
- Prepare documentation of test results, evidencing firmware validation.
- Review documentation and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on firmware functionality and implementation, including:
- Software Engineers
- Design Engineers
- Product Management
- Log, track, and report defects through to resolution, working with engineering teams to verify fixes.
- Support root cause analysis and fault-finding on firmware or hardware-related issues.

Essential Requirements
- Technical background.
- Strong communication and teamworking skills.
- Methodical, logical approach to work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and schematics.
Desirable
- Background in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering
- Experience with AC variable speed drives.
- Fault-finding experience.
- Familiarity with version control systems.
- Understanding of relevant industry standards, e.g., IEC 61800.
