Software Tester

TrustTech Recruitment are working with an innovative technology company who are looking for a Software Tester to join their growing team. As a Software Tester, you will be working on modern SaaS-based products used by enterprise customers, helping to ensure high-quality digital experiences through robust testing practices across web applications, APIs, and back-end systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment where testing is embedded into the development lifecycle from day one.
Key responsibilities:
- Champion software quality throughout the full development lifecycle, from planning through to deployment
- Carry out testing across APIs, databases, and web-based applications
- Collaborate with developers and product teams during refinement and design discussions to identify risks and improve quality early in the process
- Create and maintain detailed test plans to ensure strong feature and release coverage
- Support automation initiatives and contribute to improving testing efficiency
- Work closely with wider engineering teams to embed best testing practices across delivery
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate testing outcomes and potential risks
- Contribute to CI/CD processes, helping improve quality gates and release confidence
- Use AI-powered tools to support learning, problem solving, and test development

Key skills required:
- Commercial experience testing complex web-based applications or SaaS products
- Experience or exposure to test automation frameworks
- Strong API testing skills using Postman or similar tools
- Good understanding of databases with the ability to write SQL queries
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach to testing
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with an interest in modern tooling, including AI technologies such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Comfortable working across the full SDLC and contributing to quality from the beginning of feature development
