Soil and Water Conservation Scientist (AI Training)

About The Role

We're looking for experienced soil and water conservation scientists to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on sustainable land and water management practices. Your scientific expertise will directly shape how AI understands, reasons about, and communicates complex conservation concepts — making a real impact on the quality of environmental AI for professionals and the public alike.

Organization: Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox) Type: Hourly / Task-based Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You’ll Do

  • Review AI-generated soil and water conservation scenarios for scientific accuracy and practical soundness
  • Assess content related to:
    • Erosion control
    • Watershed management
    • Soil health
    • Conservation planning
  • Identify flawed assumptions, outdated methods, or impractical recommendations in AI outputs
  • Provide clear, structured feedback to improve:
    • Scientific rigor
    • Clarity
    • Real-world applicability
  • Complete task-based assignments independently and asynchronously at your own schedule

Who You Are

Core Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in:
    • Soil science
    • Hydrology
    • Conservation planning
    • Or a closely related field
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Soil processes
    • Water systems
    • Applied conservation techniques
  • Ability to:
    • Critically evaluate environmental science reasoning
    • Identify where AI misrepresents or misunderstands conservation concepts
    • Review and annotate technical written content with precision and consistency
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working in a remote, independent environment
